Fine italian cuisine at its casual elegant best

A little bit of history and culinary legacy in Brampton

The historic house at 485 Main Street North, Brampton, Ontario was once the home of Walter E. Calvert, a prominent rose grower in Brampton during the mid 1900’s. The house was built in the early 1930’s and remained part of the Calvert Estate until the mid 1970’s. In 1982, the former Estate was converted to Chez Marie, an upscale, fine dining French restaurant. Then in 1992, the restaurant was revamped and renamed Bassano Ristorante. The goal was to provide it’s cliental with a much more casual dining experience while still enjoying first class food made from the freshest produce and finest ingredients. In 1997, new owner’s, Alberto and Lisa Ferrari took over the property and continued to provide Bassano’s cliental with exceptional food and service within the cozy confines of this historic home.

After 12 successful years of feeding and hosting their customers, Alberto and Lisa felt the need for change. The menu and décor needed to better reflect the ever growing vibrant Brampton community that it has serviced for so many years. And so, in 2009, Aria Bistro and Lounge was born. It is a casual, modern restaurant with a cozy, yet fresh décor, new menu and live entertainment that will be sure to please. With Chef Alberto still creating tantalizing classic dishes in the kitchen and Lisa’s warm smile greeting you at the front door, Aria Bistro and Lounge promises to live up to the high standards of its predecessors.
